Why I Chose Boss Life

I started in the retail at 19, when I accepted a sales position at Anchor Blue at the University Mall.

I was beyond excited and seriously nervous! Within 3 months, I had been promoted to a sub Assistant Manager.

From that job, I've managed million dollar retail chains to high end boutiques. I've been an Assistant Buyer for a billion dollar online e-tailer, and in purchasing for a specialty catalog store.

When I discovered I would be having a baby, which came as a complete surprise, I opted to leave my corporate position and work from home. I got my real estate license and jumped in with both feet. It took months before I found my first qualified client, a couple buying their first home. I was excited and eager to do my very best for them! We closed on their new home just two days before I went in to labor...

When my daughter was five months old, I was diagnosed with postpartum depression.

I was working full time from home, taking care of our little baby, and managing a move to a new condo.

I needed to take a step back and reevaluate.

I was going 100% for everyone else and still feeling like I wasn't measuring up.

I was sleep deprived and simply felt like I couldn't do it all.

I scaled my real estate business down to specialty consultations for close friends, neighbors, and family.

Luckily, I had/have an awesome real estate teams to take excellent care of all my other referrals.

As I was getting back on track and seeking help for my postpartum depression, I saw a commercial for AVON.

I hadn't thought about AVON since I was a little girl and my mom would get a monthly catalog from our AVON LADY!

I loved those catalogs. I was an interesting kid. My favorite toy was a catalog. (Ask my friend Janna. One of our most epic battles was over a JC Penny Catalog).

Anyway, I saw their commercial, and hit mute.

I hate commercials. So I alway hit mute.

But lucky for me.. And lucky for AVON, they were the sponsor of my favorite TV show.. Project Runway Season 16.

I never missed an episode, so AVON was popping up a lot.. So I decided to go to their website.

I couldn't believe it! I thought AVON was kinda old school.. I mean, my great grandma Maxine sold AVON back in the day. So I was extremely surprised to find fun, modern prints, trendsetting skin care, fashion forward clothing and accessories, and affordable, fun makeup. I wanted to buy everything.

From that point on, I couldn't sleep. I just thought about becoming an AVON consultant and sharing these fun products with all my friends. It was exciting to find an outlet to continue working in the world of fashion and beauty and still stay home with my daughter.

Over a week went by before I sought out the advice of another AVON Rep. She had been selling with AVON for over 5 years and had a young daughter that she supported with her AVON business. After our conversation, I went right home and signed up.

I changed my outfit to match one of my new favorite AVON True Color Lipsticks. Electric Plum

And I can say, that I have not had a single regret.

AVON is fun! It's affordable. It's a recognized brand all over the world. I use their products. I love them, so I share them. There is an empowering network of women who help each other and lift each other up.

They are a fair company that offer great incentives and commissions.

They offer training and excellent customer service! Did you know, you can return any AVON item within 90 days if it is not what you were expecting? I thought you could only get that kind of high end service from NORDSTROM.

They empower and uplift women, and have donated over a billion dollars toward causes raising awareness to end domestic violence and supporting research for breast cancer.

They are a company that values the environment and practices sustainable forestry programs for their printed catalogs.

As you can see, there are a lot of reasons that AVON spoke to me.. But I hope this site will help you in your journey, even if you don't decide to become a rep for AVON.

I want to give you all of the things I learned along the way, and all the things I am learning now.

Life is a journey.. And I hope we can enjoy some of the journey together!

lots of love~ Amanda
