Overcoming Objections

Have you every been told "no"?

Or "maybe later"?

Or how about being ignored completely?

I have!

It's discouraging. Sometimes embarrassing. And a little defeating.

But it is no reason to quit!

If a dentist came to you right now and asked if you would like to purchase her tooth pulling services, what would you say? .... Well, if you don't need your tooth pulled, than the answer will definitely be no.

Should the dentist quit?

Or should she continue to show that she is there for you when you need her?

Maybe the "dentist" could work on building trust by creating an online profile or website that shares her expertise, training, ideas, charity work, and insider tips.

Maybe the "dentist" could reach out to more people offering her "tooth pulling services" until she finds a person who actually needs their tooth pulled.

Or maybe, she could add in other services that people need more regularly, like cleanings & checkups?

If the dentist just quit after being told no by the first fifty people she had offered her tooth pulling services to, she would have been missing the opportunities to serve all around her.

I know you desperately want to share your business with others because you love it!

But maybe you need to think a little bit deeper and consider what the people you are sharing with love?

It is so great having access to the internet, it has expanded our reach and the lives we can touch.

But it has also amplified the noise.

Now more than ever, we are skimming, skipping, and tuning out the messages all around us... Because there are just so darn many messages!

So, can it hurt to have a message ignored? Yes!

But how many messages do you ignore every day?

I bet you couldn't even count!

Do you always just run right out as soon as that new car commercial finishes playing?

If you do, than you might have one heck of a car collection... And probably aren't too worried about running an at home business.

How many of you have both an IPhone and a Galaxy? I bet you had to make a choice.

Knowing all of this does not make rejection any easier.

But it can help you learn and grow your business as you keep going.

1st- Pat yourself on the back for asking! "The answer is always no when you don't ask!"

2nd- Ask questions about the other person.. What are they needing/wanting?

If you are able to fill their need with what you offer, great!!

If not, do some quick research (hello, google!), and point them in the right direction.

3rd- Evaluate the lessons learned from the first rejection, apply, and move forward.

4th- Keep the door open. Continue building your reputation as an expert in your field.

Always keep learning and applying new strategies, to keep top of mind.

When your product or service is needed, people will think of you.

Most importantly, stay kind to yourself. Some days are tough. Some days you feel like you are spinning your wheels.

Just point yourself in the direction you want to go, and just keep stepping forward.

Lots of love~ Amanda
